zappi is an EV charger with a difference. Not only does it operate as a traditional EV charger, it can also charge your EV using 100% FREE energy generated from your Solar PV or wind generation. Here’s the SMART bit. Zappi charger can charge for FREE using your PV during the day and be set to charge at the most economical times at night if you have preferred economy rates from your energy provider. All controllable by the myenergi APP. No PV? No Problem!! If you don’t have a PV system, zappi can still operate like an ordinary EV charging station importing from the grid. You can always add your solar/wind system later.

Why Zappi?

The Zappi charger allows you to intelligently charge your electric vehicle with the surplus energy from your solar PV system. It has 3 charge modes, the cleverest being the ECO & ECO+ modes, which maximise the effectiveness of your solar PV system. You can charge your car with the surplus energy your solar system generates.

Fast Charge Mode

In this mode, the vehicle will be charged at maximum power. This is just like an ordinary Mode 3 charging point.

Eco Mode

Charge power is continuously adjusted in response to changes in generation or power consumption elsewhere in the home. Charging will continue until the vehicle is fully charged, even if power is drawn from the grid.

Eco Mode +

Charge power is continuously adjusted in response to changes in generation or power consumption elsewhere in the home. Charging will pause if there is too much imported power, continuing only when there is surplus free power available.

How Long Will It Take To Charge My EV With A Zappi?

Your EV charging time can vary depending on the amount of charge your vehicle requires. Charging time can take as little as half an hour but could also take over 10 hours. On average an electric car takes just over 8 hours to fully charge from empty. However, this charging time can differ depending on the chargers speed, zappi’s charge quickly and efficiently. Quick chargers can give you 100+ miles with just 30 minutes of charging time much like the zappi these products are perfect for last-minute and unexpected journeys where you don’t have time to spend hours refuelling. Charging time is also determined by the capacity of your EV. For instance, if your electric vehicles capacity is 3.5kwh or 7kwh using an EV charger with 18kwh won't speed up your charging time and the same If your vehicle has a high capacity but your EV charger has a lower capacity. This is because your vehicle can only perform to the maximum charging speed your EV accepts.
