Case Studies : New Life Church Retrofit

New Life Church were aware that there was something seriously wrong with their PV System. For this reason they called in Empower Energy to investigate why their system was under-performing. A retrofit solution was recommended, this included appropriate electrical testing as well as ensuring maximum output efficiency and DV safety by the PV system.

In this case, Empower Energy found several undetected faults which may have caused a fire risk and electrocution hazards. These findings were causing the system to malfunction, including electrical arcing and isolation faults.

The PV system was retrofitted using SolarEdge technology which consisted of 100 optimisers and two SolarEdge 25 KW inverters. This technology was specifically designed to increase energy production and automatically shut-down in case of an emergency. The system is monitored online 24/7 to detect any issues and track the system performance in real time. Empower worked together with our scaffolders, to complete the project in 3 days from the first pole being erected to access equipment being removed from site.
