Empower Energy Ltd (‘We,’ ‘Our,’ ‘us’) is a company registered in England (registered number 7609342) and forms part of the Good Energy Group. Our registered office is Good Energy, Monkton Park Offices, Monkton Park, Chippenham, Wiltshire, England, SN15 1GH. The terms “Empower,” “we” or “us” refers to ‘Empower Energy Ltd.’

We are committed to protecting individuals’ personal information which is disclosed to or collected by Empower. This Privacy Notice describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you interact with us.

PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We may collect personal information about you when you contact us, using our website, social media platforms, telephone or in writing to our postal address. Where we collaborate with partners or service providers, we will also receive your personal information to provide you with the services requested.

  • Survey information including property photos

What We Do 

Our Lawful Basis 

We use the Order Information that we collect to fulfil any orders placed through the Site (including processing your payment information, arranging for shipping, and providing you with invoices and/or order confirmations). 

Where you have contracted with us, we will need to process your personal information to perform the contracted services you have requested from us.

 

To contact you via email, telephone, text/SMS messages or by visiting you to talk about services and products we have provided before, now or in the future, and to improve the way we run any accounts 

We rely on your consent which can be provided explicitly or implied where legitimate interests due to the fact we have provided similar products or services to you before.

We process in our legitimate interests in ensuring our staff can perform their roles.

We use the Device Information that we collect to help us screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), and more generally to improve and optimize our Site (for example, by generating analytics about how our customers browse and interact with the Site, and to assess the success of our marketing and advertising campaigns).

We process on our legitimate interests that are proportionate to understand business trends to improve products and services provided.

 

SHARING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

We will only share your personal information with organisations relevant to your installation or the serviced being provided to you. Examples of the organisations that we might need to share your data with are:

  • Good Energy Group Companies such as Trust Solar
  • EPC companies (Energy Performance Certificates)
  • Scaffolding companies
  • MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme)
  • Suppliers and subcontractors relevant to your job or for monitoring purposes.
  • Trusted third parties including service providers, business partners and sub-contractors for business administration, support, payment processing or IT purposes.

There are circumstances where we may need to disclose your personal information to third parties where we are legally obliged to do so, or to apply or enforce our legal rights.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. 

HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION

We keep records for as long as required in accordance with legal requirements, or business interests to retain the data to provide products and services to you, to communicate with you, or for marketing purposes. Where your information is no longer required, we will dispose of it in a secure manner.

INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS

We are a UK-based company, and as such most of your personal information will be stored in the UK, in a secure physical or electronic form. In some circumstances, we may need to use the services of a supplier outside the European Economic Area (‘EEA’).

Where this is the case, we will take all reasonable steps to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Notice. We will also ensure we have in place the adequate safeguards for the transfer of personal information outside the EEA, such as Standard Contractual Clauses, or International Data Transfer Agreements.

  • Right of access – you can request a copy of personal information we hold about you at any time.
  • Right to rectification - if you find any inaccuracies, please inform us of this so that we can correct that.
  • Right to erasure – you have the right to request deletion of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Right to restriction or processing – you have the right to request restriction in the way we process your personal information.
  • Right to object – you have the right to object to our processing.
  • Right to data portability - you have the right to ask that we transfer the personal information you gave us, to another organisation, or to you.
  • Rights related to automated decision making and profiling – if your personal information is used for automated decision making or profiling you have the right to object. Empower does not carry out any automated decision making or profiling activity.
  • Right to withdraw consent – if consent is requested to collect and process your personal information, this can be withdrawn at any point by contacting us using the contact information in Key Contact Details section below.

To exercise any of these rights please contact us using the details provided below. We will respond as soon as we are able, and in any event within the statutory timescale set, but please do provide as much information as you can to ensure we can action your request accordingly.

CHANGES

We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. This privacy notice was last updated in December 2024.

 

COOKIES

The Empower website uses cookies. A cookie is a small text file containing an identifier (a string of letters and numbers) which is stored on your computer to hold data about the website.
