Bob’s journey with Empower began in 2022 when he first decided to invest in solar for his home. Initially, we installed a 5.68kWp solar system (16 panels and a SolarEdge inverter, which generated 5,800 kWh per year. The installation was a step towards reducing his electricity bills and contributing to sustainability.
After experiencing the system’s positive impact on his energy consumption and costs, Bob decided to enhance the setup further by adding 4 more panels to his existing system, increasing his total capacity. With this upgrade, Bob’s system now generates 7,782 kWh annually, which has significantly improved his energy independence and savings.
The additional panels and the upgraded inverter not only boosted Bob’s energy generation but also enabled him to achieve energy independence for at least half of the year. His system now powers his home for a significant portion of the year, and with the addition of a battery and a car charger, Bob enjoys the benefits of being “off-grid” for at least six months annually. Additionally, his electric vehicle is charged from the excess solar energy, meaning he can travel “for free” using solar power!
